HKPGA Order of Merit 2012 – Open Division Leg 3 - Press Release

Intense competition! Two days Open Division Leg 3 was successfully held in the red-hot atmosphere of competition. On August 20 and 21, the weather was almost perfect, under the hot sun over the sky of the Discovery Bay Golf Club, golfers performed superb. The competition was completed in an extremely high level.

Winner Michael Cheung

Day one, 8 players played even par or below. Michael Cheung and Timothy Tang were joint-leaders scoring 67. Wilson Choy and James Stewart tie-third place scored 68. Seen the first day of the competition, the golfers have made every effort without reservation, in order to obtain the best results.

After a night's rest, golfers restored all their strength and struggled for their best. Although there was about 30 minutes shower in the middle part of the competition, but the performance of the golfers were not affected. 3 players with under par result were entitled to get the extra bonus prize of this year which was newly established this year. Leading the way Michael Cheung won the championship scoring 139. Two runners-up respectively Timothy Tang and Dominique Boulet scored 140 and tie-fourth place were Wilson Choy, Tang Man Kee and Jimmy Ko scoring 142.

The competition was held successfully, the results were becoming increasingly bright, relying on the close co-operation of all aspects, We would like to thank the best support of the Discovery Bay Golf Club, and the most important was the efforts of the golfers. We hope the golfers continue to vigorously advance and achieve better results.
